A postpartum wellness community rooted in traditions from around the earth.

A mother is born and the earth shifts.

bearth mother honors the profound transformation that occurs when a woman becomes a mother. A rebirth that reshapes her connection to herself, her child, and the earth beneath her feet. The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. The narrow, modern view of postpartum derives from capitalist pressure and "bounce back" culture. There's a huge loss of wisdom that once honored the long-term nature of this integral transition. How we hold mothers is how we hold the earth. This community aims to get back to the deep rooted knowing that we go further when we feel supported.

Hi, I’m Katie McGinley!

A working mom, certified postpartum doula, previous founder of San Diego’s first postpartum retreat, and someone who is deeply passionate about supporting new moms as part of my personal mission. Even with all of my knowledge and preparation for an empowered postpartum, I still struggled like so many others. The best thing that pulled me back into the light was community and welcoming support. Especially other moms sharing authentically. So I hope to be an extension of that and a good steward of postpartum care for others.

Integrating holistic wellness and making it more accessible is why I created bearth mother. A way to nurture deeper healing for ourselves, our children, and our communities. Sharing my learnings with creative expression while connecting with others is of my highest excitement!  My dream is to continue to shift broader societal conversations around the concept of a village being viewed as essential vs pushing hypervigilance and independence. Where society returns to the deep knowing that we go further together than alone. I believe how we hold mothers is how we hold the earth.

Welcome to bearth mother. I hope you find this space and community a place where we can support each other in the heart of our souls. Hugs!
